From June 18 to 28, 2026, FRANKFURT WESTSIDE became a summer event venue on the banks of the Main River in Griesheim. Over the course of ten days, the WESTSIDE SUMMER combined music, sports, culture, open-air cinema, and dining – from the four-day WESTCOAST FESTIVAL to six evenings of open-air cinema at the WESTCOAST CINEMA.

Festival Atmosphere on the Banks of the Main

On June 18, the WESTCOAST FESTIVAL kicked off with an evening full of live music from the Frankfurt and international music scenes. Die P, Aisha Vibes, VEGA, and Celo & Abdi brought their diverse sounds to the banks of the Main. The closeness between the artists and the audience gave the evening a special, intimate festival atmosphere.

Over the following days of the festival, music, sports, and recreational activities took turns taking center stage. On Friday, around 60 participants competed against each other in an open table tennis round-robin tournament. Hosted by Hood Comedy’s Halid Rizvanovic and featuring special guest Bruno Barnaby, the athletic evening turned into an entertaining experience for the audience. Afterward, the action shifted from the table tennis table to the big screen with the film Marty Supreme.

Zumba, wine tastings with the VDP wineries, water games for children, and DJ sets rounded out the program. A special highlight was the public viewing of the Germany vs. Ivory Coast soccer match, which drew around 1,200 guests. The festival came to a relaxed close on Sunday with the Kellergold flea market and its vintage treasures.

Big screen, balmy summer evenings

Starting June 23, WESTSIDE SUMMER continued with WESTCOAST CINEMA. Over the course of six evenings, the banks of the Main River were transformed into an open-air movie theater, offering a diverse selection of current films and well-known classics—including One Battle After Another and Dirty Dancing, with which we were able to enjoy the season’s final dance under the open sky together.

Thank you for being there!
