Industrial culture

The WESTSIDE CINEMA promises goosebumps, laughter, trepidation and suspense from two great movies in a cinematic setting: 200 audience members will witness an unforgettable cinematic experience with the moving Queen film biography Bohemian Rhapsody and the bitterly wicked tragicomedy Triangle of Sadness.

Triangle of Sadness

Ruben Östlund’s bitter, hilarious and wonderfully absurd satire about the rich and beautiful on a luxury yacht was the success of the past cinema year. “Triangle of Sadness” won all the relevant prizes in the film world (including the Palme d’Or in Cannes and the European Film Award) and the hearts of the critics and the audience along with it. But what exactly had we just seen? Is it the funniest film in a long time? The most provocative, the meanest, the crudest, even the most liberating? It simply combines everything in one, combining comedy, criticism and an outstanding ensemble of actors in a way that is certainly a matter of taste. Just like excessive oyster slurping, by the way. In any case, three things are certain: cinema has rarely laughed louder. Woody Harrelson as the captain is a revelation. And: You’ve definitely never been on a voyage like this in the cinema. Come on board!

Bohemian Rhapsody

Closed

“Oh mama mia, mama mia!” Do you remember that powerful magic – that event from a film? Well, everyone will remember… Rami Malek’s acting performance, which was like an almost unbelievable transformation. The final, all-turning live performance and the feeling of happiness as the credits rolled. But why now experience Freddie Mercury as the drama queen once again live and open air on the grounds of the former industrial park? Because in the last 20 minutes of this film, basically everything is condensed that cinema can still do in its very strongest moments: Goosebumps, ecstasy, tears, shared experience. Or in other words: We Will Rock You!

Directed by: Bryan Singer, USA, TR 2018; 134 Min.; FSK: from 6; DF
